SEO Specialist
Role Overview
We are looking for an SEO Specialist to own organic growth for a portfolio of legal and professional services client accounts. You will run technical, local, and content SEO end to end, and help these firms show up not just in Google's traditional results but in AI-driven search experiences like AI Overviews and ChatGPT. This is a remote, full-time role for someone who is comfortable owning their own accounts, digging into data, and shipping work without being chased.
What You'll Do
- Own SEO strategy and execution across a portfolio of client accounts, from audit through to reporting.
- Run technical SEO: crawl and index health, site speed, internal linking, schema markup, and fixing what's broken.
- Drive local SEO performance - Google Business Profile optimization, local landing pages, citations, and map pack visibility for firms competing in specific cities and practice areas.
- Optimize for AI search (GEO/AEO): structure content and entities so client sites get surfaced and cited in AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and other LLM-based search tools.
- Do keyword and competitor research that reflects real buying intent, not just search volume.
- Brief and edit content, and work with writers to publish pages that actually rank and convert.
- Plan and oversee ethical link building and digital PR activity.
- Build clear monthly reporting that ties rankings and traffic back to leads and cases signed, and present it in plain language.
- Stay on top of algorithm and AI search changes, and translate them into changes we actually make.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of hands-on SEO experience, ideally in an agency or multi-client environment.
- Strong technical SEO skills - you can read a crawl report and know what to fix first.
- Proven local SEO experience, including Google Business Profile and multi-location or multi-practice-area setups.
- Working knowledge of AI search optimization and how content gets cited by LLMs.
- Comfortable with the standard toolkit: GA4, Google Search Console, Ahrefs or Semrush, Screaming Frog, and similar.
- Experience with content-led SEO - briefing, editing, and optimizing pages, not just handing over keywords.
- Able to explain results to non-technical clients without jargon.
- Clear written communication and the ability to manage your own workload in a remote team.
Nice to Have
- Experience marketing for law firms or other regulated professional services.
- Familiarity with CRMs and call tracking, and attributing organic traffic through to signed clients.
- Basic HTML/CSS or CMS comfort (WordPress) for implementing fixes yourself.
