Short-Form Video Editor (Long-Form to Short-Form + Motion Graphics)
The Remote Reps is hiring a Video Editor who can consistently turn long-form content into high-performing short-form clips and enhance edits with clean, modern motion graphics. You should understand strong hooks, pacing, retention, and how to use animated text and visual callouts to keep viewers watching.
You will work with podcasts, interviews, webinars, and long-form videos and convert them into short-form content optimized for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and LinkedIn.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Repurpose long-form videos into short-form clips built for social performance
- Identify strong hooks, quotable moments, and story arcs that translate into short-form
- Edit with tight pacing, clean cuts, and platform-native formatting
- Create and apply motion graphics, animated text, lower thirds, and visual callouts
- Add subtitles and on-screen text designed for mobile viewing and retention
- Design assets if required, including thumbnails, overlays, simple graphics, and branded elements
- Maintain brand consistency across multiple clients and content styles
- Deliver multiple short-form outputs per long-form asset on a consistent schedule
- Collaborate with content and growth teams to align creative with performance goals
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience converting long-form content into short-form videos
- Strong understanding of TikTok, Reels, Shorts, and LinkedIn video best practices
- Strong sense of timing, pacing, and visual storytelling
- Motion graphics experience that improves clarity and engagement
- Experience with captions, subtitle workflows, and social-first typography
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and deadline reliability in a remote environment
