Senior SEO Specialist
The Remote Reps help fast-growing companies build reliable remote teams in marketing, sales, and operations. For this role, you will be fully dedicated to one client, acting as their in house SEO expert while being hired and supported by The Remote Reps.
You will think and operate like part of the client’s internal team, focused on long term growth, not quick hacks.
Role Overview
We are hiring a Senior SEO Specialist to own and execute the complete SEO roadmap. Your goal is simple and clear: help this client rank higher, attract qualified traffic, and turn that traffic into leads and revenue.
You will audit their current SEO performance, build a clear plan, and then implement it with consistency. You will work closely with their marketing lead, content team, and developer to make sure SEO is built into everything they publish.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
- Build a complete SEO strategy tailored to one client, based on their business model, audience, and goals.
- Conduct detailed keyword research, topic clustering, and search intent mapping.
- Analyze direct competitors and search competitors to identify content gaps and ranking opportunities.
- Develop a quarterly SEO roadmap with clear priorities and timelines.
On Page & Content SEO
- Create SEO focused content briefs and outlines for blogs, landing pages, and resource pages.
- Optimize existing content for structure, readability, internal linking, and conversions.
- Collaborate with writers and designers to ensure every page is aligned with SEO best practices.
- Plan and maintain a content calendar that supports both ranking and demand generation.
Technical SEO
- Perform technical SEO audits and own the technical backlog for the client website.
- Work with the developer to resolve crawl issues, indexation problems, Core Web Vitals, structured data, and page speed.
- Manage URL structures, redirects, canonical tags, and sitemaps.
- Monitor site health and quickly flag issues before they impact rankings.
Authority & Off Page SEO
- Develop and manage white hat link building strategies that fit the client’s niche and risk profile.
- Identify digital PR and content collaborations that can earn high quality backlinks.
- Monitor backlink profile and disavow harmful links when needed.
Analytics, Reporting & Iteration
- Track performance using Google Analytics / GA4, Google Search Console, and SEO platforms.
- Build simple, client friendly reports that show movement in rankings, traffic, and leads.
- Identify quick wins and long term projects, and communicate them clearly to the client.
- Continuously test, learn, and adjust the strategy based on data and algorithm changes.
AI & SEO Tools
- Use AI to speed up research, content outlines, clustering, and QA while keeping strategy human led.
- Standardize repeatable workflows and templates so the client’s marketing team can move faster.
- Stay up to date with algorithm updates, industry changes, and new tools that can improve results.
Tools You Should Be Comfortable With
You do not need every single one, but strong experience with most of these is expected:
- Analytics & Tracking: Google Analytics / GA4, Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager
- SEO Suites: Semrush, Ahrefs, Moz, or similar
- Technical: Screaming Frog, Sitebulb, PageSpeed Insights, Lighthouse
- Content Optimization: Surfer SEO, Clearscope, Frase, or similar
- AI & Productivity: ChatGPT, Claude, or similar to support workflows and analysis
- Reporting: Looker Studio or similar dashboard tools, Google Sheets
What We Are Looking For
- 3+ years of hands on SEO experience with clear examples of ranking and traffic growth.
- Deep understanding of on page, technical, and off page SEO and how they connect.
- Experience owning SEO for one main website or brand over time, not just short term projects.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain SEO choices to non technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in a remote environment, using tools like Slack, ClickUp, Notion, or similar.
- Analytical mindset, high ownership, and a habit of documenting and improving processes.
Nice To Have
- Experience with local SEO and Google Business Profile.
- Experience in agency settings or working as a dedicated SEO for a single client or brand.
- Familiarity with WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, or other CMS platforms.
- Basic HTML / CSS knowledge.
What You Get
- A fully remote role dedicated to a single client, so you can go deep instead of juggling dozens of accounts.
- Clear goals and a long term scope to build something meaningful, not just run short campaigns.
- Support from The Remote Reps team in operations, client communication, and systems.
- Room to grow into a lead or strategic SEO role as the partnership expands.
